Issuepedia is a wiki-based encyclopedia of issues and opinions, created by Woozle in 2005. It is on the web at issuepedia.org.
People don't seem to get the point of Issuepedia. Everything I understand about what's wrong with our society, however, points to the need for something like it.
Issuepedia is a dispute-resolution tool which provides a focal point for every contentious issue or idea. Within the focal point for each topic, all the facts, opinions, misconceptions, and disinformation about that topic are in one place, where they can all be sorted out and reconciled. Facts and beliefs can be put on record in a calm and rational way, rather than being whipped out (and possibly invented or distorted) in the heat of a discussion.
