Homemade soap/usage

The key thing about our soap is that it is much more concentrated than commercial soap (and uses higher-quality ingredients) and consequently doesn't need a whole lot of water. If it sits in water for any time, it turns to mush, and doesn't last very long.

Showering

I get my body parts that I want to soap up wet first, then step out of the water stream and apply the soap without waiting for obvious suds, then put the soap up and lather up from what has been deposited.

Handwashing

A good way to get a good cleaning with minimal soap usage is:

  • rub one hand on the wet side of the soap (usually the underside - just flip the soap over)
  • run the non-soaped hand in water
  • bring hands together to lather up
